Jarkeeper: file 3,120 jars and help a haunted house heal

Jarkeeper hands you a gothic mansion that fell apart the night you sleepwalked off, and the only cure is filing. 3,120 jars of bats, brains, frogs, tongues, rubber ducks and the odd homunculus are scattered across floors, halls and wrong shelves, and every one has exactly one home: the specimen picks the shelf, the color picks the row, the catalogue code picks the spot, and a flower on the lid sends it to the Bloom shelf. Scoop them up by the armful, hear them slosh, and watch the house heal.

Helping out are six bimbous, adoring little housemates who teach you spells and keep calling you their little sleepwalker. The spells are where the cozy sorting turns into a toybox: Magnet yanks matching jars into your arms, Panic makes misfiled jars glow red and scream, and Collate tidies your armful into catalogue order. Pick Chill for just you, the rain and the shelves, or Spooky for power cuts, earthquakes and black-and-white noir episodes, and there's a Nightmare setting beyond that. The satisfying jar sounds and music are a highlight, and there's a sweet story with a proper ending to sort your way toward.

A few quibbles. The shelf layout can be awkward to memorize, so finding a jar's home can lean hard on your spells, and the late-game highlighting of leftover jars, plus a hatchable helper, can take some of the hands-on satisfaction away if you love doing it all yourself. There are comfort settings for screen shake and camera bobbing on stairs. It's still a young release with a small fan base, so think of this as a warm early recommendation rather than a sure thing.
